Lord protect me from dangers seen and unseen. Amen.
You may have heard this short prayer prayed several times before at church or you may have prayed it yourself as you were traveling on the highway. For some, this may be your first time hearing it.
Whichever side of the spectrum you fall on, this simple prayer is needed more and more everyday! Recent events have intensified my plea for the Lord to protect me, my family, friends and community from the unseen dangers and evil obstacles in life, the dangers I didn’t even know I needed to ask God to protect us from.
Dangers such as fraudulent nursing credentials being sold, stores overcharging customers due to register scanning “errors”, people left without a place to live because of the 3x rent rule, boulders crashing through your home and let’s not forget the people who act in the flesh and become a deadly threat and interfere with those who simply want to get home!
These real life facts can stir up fear, but can I challenge you to take heart? The Lord is faithful and will protect you from the evil one [2 Thessalonians 3:3].
So the next time you pray, remember this short and simple prayer. Let God know that you are fully dependent on His complete and maximal knowledge of all things, events and scenarios that you will encounter. Ask Him to steer you away from the snare of the enemy and give you the strength to withstand. The best way to do that is to put on your spiritual clothes every single day [Ephesians 6:13].
All in all, I want to motivate you to stay hopeful friends! In fact, I leave you with this task. If you want to change the wicked, heinous and dishonorable climate of the world, be a light and spur one another towards love and good deeds. We need it all the more as the Day is approaching [Hebrews 10:24-25].
See you next week!
