I’ll be the first to say the book of Revelations scares me and raises so many questions, almost to the point that I shy away from reading it. But…God doesn’t let me hide from it because in some way He always brings the word to me.
Don’t be like me, be brave enough to receive the portion of reveled knowledge the Lord is offering and encouraged enough to trust the one and true God to see you through the turbulent times to comes.
So, I’m scrolling Facebook and I see a post that makes me stop and think about the deeper meaning behind. The post wasn’t Christian based, it was actually about new changes in technology and applications, but nonetheless is caused me to Google to find supporting scripture. Lo and behold, I’m guided to Revelations, the book I try to read the least.
The first scripture is what really clung to my bones while I was reading and the second one was the verse of the day in the Bible app. Coincidence? I think not! I see you God, this is what you wanted to get into my Spirit. Why? Because the time is now.
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Rev 2:10
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
It’s scary but it’s real. The events of Revelations are approaching. We honestly don’t know for sure how far into the timeline of those events that we are. There will always be some level of uncertainty with God and His plans, not because He isn’t trustworthy or consistent, but because He has secret things that only belong to Him.
These scriptures, however, give you certainty that trouble lies ahead and that we have the sole duty and responsibility to be faithful until death.
I hope this doesn’t come off as too grim, but with each passing day we can’t put off knowing the truth of what is to come, whether sweet, good or disturbing.
The time is now. Ready yourself. Embrace Jesus and brace yourselves.
I pray for the crown of life to be placed on your head in the end!
See you next week!
