What Will Your Faith Do for You?

A friend shared her testimony with me this week and it charged up my spirit so much

that I asked if it was okay to share it here.

My friend is by no means in lack, with the God we serve, we lack nothing [Psalm 34:9-10]. However, I choose to describe her situation as a temporary time of slowed income, where she must choose to prioritize certain needs over others.

She needed to place an order from her eye care provider and she didn’t expect the total to be $140. At the moment when the total and taxes were being read off to her, she had a choice. She knew the cost was more than what she had and that based on that fact alone her response should have been “No thank you, cancel the order.” Instead, she proceeded to tell the doctor to place the order.

I want to pause here because this is what faith looks like and it can look different based on each situation we find ourselves in. She didn’t pray out loud (maybe she did in her head), she didn’t cry (maybe she wanted to) but she simply said yes. Her faith caused her to say yes to God’s supernatural power. Her yes was an invitation to God entering her situation.

If you don’t know, there is this concept of Girl Math trending on social media but recently a Christian influencer started a God Math series. So let’s do some God Math real quick. God Math is very simple, it’s where God makes a way out of no way that doesn’t have to make sense to man.

So here is the equation:

Limited income – $140 + Yes = Need met

By my friend continuing to place the order regardless of her limited income, she remembered who her Father was and believed he would make a way for her. What should have been a no became a yes because of her faith!

So this is what God did for her, the $140 total was met with an insurance allowance of $130 and then there was a running promotion for $5 off any order.

Let’s do more math:

$140 – $130 – $5 = $5 to be paid out of pocket

So, I ask you this, what will your faith do for you? Do you have enough faith in God to meet your every need? Will you say yes before you even know how the need will be met?

Had my friend said no to the order, faith wouldn’t have been exercised, the insurance allowance would not have been checked, the store promotion wouldn’t have been discussed, a need would have been missed and God wouldn’t have had a chance to get all the glory and I would have no testimony to share.

What will your faith do for you?

Faith in God changes everything, friends! Please trust him today, tomorrow and always. Even when it’s hard and you are tight pressed on every side. What He did for her, He will do for you [Acts 10:34].

See you next week!
