Community & Peace

Last year I wrote a blog post around the concept of lingering. How not rushing through moments and interactions with people can be beneficial.

The things I write about I do apply to my life because I want my walk to match my talk.

This week I was blessed to experience sound therapy and it was beautiful! It was 45 minutes of meditation and the entire time I prayed, focused on my breathing and relaxed every muscle in my face down to my toes.

After class I lingered.

Instead of getting my water to go, I sat down.

After that another woman sat with us and we had a circle of 5 women before you knew it.

We lingered together.

This lingering created a connection point of community which God wants for us. We talked about our challenges as women, our past experiences that broke us but brought about beautiful testimonies, we shared our current passions, we cried and most importantly we talked about God.

Don’t rush or ignore the value of momentary relationships. In those 10 minutes, we were all one. All seeking the same thing, community and peace, which are perfect gifts from God.

2 Corinthians 13:11

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

As we enter Holy Week, when you thank God for sending us a Savior, also consider the people Jesus came in contact with, the long and short term relationships, the community he established and where he chose to linger.

See you next week!
