In the Middle

When you choose to follow God you are sandwiched right in the middle.

What does that mean?

If you’re following God that means He is before you and you are behind Him, which makes sense, but what is behind you causing you to be in the middle?

Let me remind you of this scripture.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:6

Is the picture more clear? God is before you, you are behind Him and what’s behind you?

Goodness and mercy.

You’re right where you need to be, fully covered, protected and sandwiched right in the middle.

Such a blessed and special place to be.

Back in the day, many years ago, I never used for sign a card for someone without creating a personal poem for them. I haven’t written a poem in years, but I felt inspired today. So if poetry is your thing, keep reading. It’s simple, but a beautiful way to remember this post.

In the Middle by Brittany Jennette

I’m right in the middle

Where I’m supposed to be

I’m right in the middle

Because God goes before me

I’m right in the middle

How can that be

I’m right in the middle

Because goodness and mercy follow after me

See you next week!
