Living the True Soft Life

The verse of the day several days ago was Ezekiel 36:26-27.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”

I love having the the verse of the day on my phone because it reminds me of scriptures that I don’t visit very often and it’s always a delight to be reminded and meditate on the word.

For me, maybe for you too, these verses have a lot of emotion behind it. I remember times where my heart was hard from bitter, stinging or less than desired experiences. These verses in Ezekiel depict God making our bitter experiences sweet by offering to remold, soften and change us in a new way with a new heart on a path leading to Him. A miracle of grace!

I heard an audio on social media of a man saying that he stopped praying because prayer made him think about the aspects of life that were painful. Prayer dug them up and made him face them with God and he just didn’t want to do that.

I challenge you to bring the things that have made your heart hard to the Lord today. It’s worth praying about, talking about, reliving it, crying about it and releasing it because what we read above promises healing, softness and grace.

Prayer isn’t meant to be a burden, it’s meant to release burdens. God offers hope for even the hardest of hearts.

As many call it today, this is the soft life, the real, biblical Christ-like version of living the “soft life” and being in your “soft era”.

See you next week!
