I’m a part of a family of 4. It’s my dad, mom, sister and myself as the youngest.
When it comes to driving, my dad drives our family everywhere. If he’s ever not able to drive or the responsibility needs to be shared, it flows down to the next family member. I’m always the last option, which I love because I do not like driving.
It’s comforting knowing that I have three people ahead of me before someone even thinks about asking me to drive anywhere.
Over the weekend it was all four of us in the car and a deep peace came over me to the point I went to sleep. I wasn’t the driver with full driving responsibilities nor was I the front seat passenger with the limited responsibilities to assist the driver. I was all the way in the back, just moving as the car went, unbothered by other drivers around me, sleeping as I needed and enjoying conversation and the scenery.
This is the type of tranquility and release of control we get to have with God. This is what it feels and looks like to fully rely on Him. Letting His presence and will guide you in life.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;
Hebrews 4:9
God allows both physical rest and a spiritual rest that begin by entering the place of the Lord. We know that in God’s presence there is everything we need!
As I grow in God, I want to be mindful to give God glory in all things. That moment in the car proved to me that my joy is anchored in God because the spiritual rest and entering He gave me made my heart leap for joy.
For his people, the Sabbath is ongoing. For his people, the kingdom is before them.
See you next week!
