What If It Works Out?

1–2 minutes

We’ve been blessed to be able to recently renovate our bathrooms. The shower is a marbled white and gray with silver finishes and the paint chosen for the walls is an off white with grey undertones.

I wanted a pop of color to brighten it up and add some dimensions and I first thought was sage green. Then I changed my mind and felt like baby blue would be very chic and add to the calming tones.

So I’m searching Amazon for wall art, with filters set for blue decor. How about I come across a set of wall art that has both baby blue and sage green. I said, “Wow Lord, thank you for working that out perfectly.” Then I came to notice that one of the pieces said, “What if it all works out?”.

Me already being in a state of thankfulness, I tell myself everything does work out because I know what Romans 8:28 says. For a moment I started to feel like the wall art challenged what I knew to be true (all things working out), but the more I sat in thought it became clearer. That’s why we test all things by the Spirit.

It wasn’t a challenge against the written word, Romans 8:28, but a challenge to the carnal mind. As much as we hide scripture in our heart and read the truths of God, we have to make sure our minds and thoughts get aligned to it. So yes, I know all things work for my good in my heart, but the wall art was calling out that my mind needed to match.

It was a call to action to train our minds towards the word!

So the next time I’m worried about “what if” in my head and I look up at the wall, I’ll be reminded that I have a matching scripture already deposited in my heart to transform my carnal thoughts.

Let your mind draw from the well of your heart that holds the truths of God.

What if it all works out?

It will.

See you next week!
