Dear Anxiety

Anxiety is real.

The fight for your mind is real.

Out of nowhere, at least it seemed that way, anxiety sprung up in my life. I can’t pinpoint the exact year it started, but I noticed it’s deep affect on me in 2021. It was silent and unnoticeable at first, like it was trying out it’s new “home” undetected, but it got real comfortable and showed it’s full self.

Anxiety comes in different forms, but for me it comes in bouts of irritability, racing heart, hypersensitivity to disarray and always rushing to do simple tasks that aren’t urgent

This is not how I want my days to feel like.

If you’ve ever experienced any of the ugly side of anxiety, you know you have to choose to fight against it daily. I’ve prayed about this many times, but this morning I’m fighting! Trust me, you’ll know the difference when you get fed up! So how will I fight? I’m going to fight like David did [see last week’s post for encouragement in a battle].

Anxiety can loom large over you, like Goliath, waiting for you the moment you wake up in the morning. Taunting you day after day like a bully would. Instead of looking at the size of the problem, David gained his courage by having faith in who his God is.

“Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

1 Samuel 17:26

David tapped into the power and perspective of God and acted in faith on that belief. So this morning in my prayer time, I spoke to my anxious ways with the same perspective David used. I invite you to do the same by praying the prayer below with me. Maybe anxiety isn’t your situation right now, whatever you need to be released from, talk directly to it right now. Subdue it with your authority in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 12:25 says “Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Let’s set our hearts free today friends!

If you have a moment, listen to this song after praying. Be reminded that the Lord will fight for you and with you. It ends in victory!

See you next week!

Great ready word for many. Praying Consistently also helps. Your prayer can be as simple as calling on the name of Jesus!
