Prayer Postures

I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw this picture of different postures you can pray in along with scripture illustrating each one in use.

It encouraged me to try praying in a posture other than sitting and kneeling. I believe the severity of the thing you are praying for will naturally lead you to any one of these postures. God doesn’t have a stipulation for your prayer posture and I’m certainly not trying to say that these are the only postures you can pray in. My goal today is simple: just to encourage you to pray.

Maybe praying in a different posture can give your prayer life a freshness you’ve been needing or help your mind not wander while you are praying. Either way, just pray friends. Talk with God. Connect with God. No fancy words needed. Just bring your heart, weaknesses, needs and praise to the throne.

See you next week!

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us all. I am a living witness that prayer WORKS. I believe it has never been more important for God’s people to be in a prayer posture TODAY!! But knowing how to pray is not always easy sometimes. Even Jesus’ disciples felt the same confusion. However, He gave us instructions, you can find a few in the book of Matthew starting at chapter 6. To me prayer is having an open / honest talk with God. Letting it all out even if all you can do is cry or call on the name of Jesus – He knows the rest. Keep in mind He knows you better than you know yourself!!
Have a little talk with Jesus consistently.
