One thing about me, I’m going to talk about anxiety. So if you see three, five or ten more posts about the topic, that’s all right because my job is to speak what the Lord tells me. Anxiety is at an all time high around the world and just like the devil, it is roaming and seeking whom it can devour.
I just want to give my anxious friends one tip (besides prayer of course). When I feel anxious or frantic while doing a single task or a series of tasks, I physically slow myself down. If I am washing dishes I wash them slower, if I am loading the dryer I will put in one item at a time instead of a huge bundle or if I am presenting to a client I will talk slower and pause more often. I think you get the point: Slow yourself down.
Anxiety is an evil spirit. Why? Because it does exactly the opposite of how God wants us to live, which is freely, joyfully, loving life and experiencing good days. Simply put an evil spirit is one that has the goal of tricking and attacking believers, putting a stop on the advancement of the kingdom and negating the truth of God’s word.
The bible says in Ephsians 6:12 that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness. We were warned that these spirits will rise up against us and harass us, but there is good news! Because we know evil spirits can take on many forms and try to disguise their true nature, we can identify them quickly and fight against them. We have the authority to draw the battle line and fight the spirit of anxiety with the spirit of peace and to meet the spirit of rush with a spirit of calm.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we have authority and power over the demonic. John 14:12 says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” We know for a fact that Jesus conquered demons and the tricks of Satan and we can too!
Revelation 12:11 says, “And they [believers] overcame him [devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” The power of the blood of Jesus, not only gives us the authority but also the courage to put the devil in his place, which us under our feet.
Keep fighting friends, don’t bow or tap out. God is rooting for you and I am praying for your strength!
See you next week!
