I am back, friends! Welcome to those who may be visiting and subscribing for the first time, those who landed here by accident and those who have intentionally been waiting on the return. Welcome, welcome, welcome.
It’s 2024! Not only is it a new year, but we are already in the 3rd month. Time is flying already.
I just wanted to share some of the things that have been revealed to me during my time away, regarding the direction for this shared space that we use to glorify God.
In summary, below is what I hope to do in 2024 for Things Above:
Bite-sized Posts
I noticed last year I was subconsciously holding myself to an unnecessary standard of having long and lengthy blog posts. I felt that if it wasn’t multiple paragraphs it wasn’t worth writing. That was a mental trap I set for myself and it was moving me towards burnout, but we (God and myself) identified it as a snare and are moving around it.
Wisdom Series
In December of 2023, the Holy Spirit told me my word, my goal and direction for 2024 was wisdom. I hope in some form I can “teach” on this topic, using Proverbs as my biblical foundation. I started a Youtube channel and bought a new camera, so I’m thinking video content here would be a great addition and refresh to the weekly posts.
Forget Structure
Sometimes my thoughts are chaotic and I don’t know how to pull them from my brain and put them in a digital format. I’ve developed anxiety around this because I’m putting pressure to have an aesthetic storytelling format. This year I’m going to be as authentic as possible, not worrying about length or too much storytelling (unless it’s needed) because nothing will stop me from writing about my life, testimonies or lessons.
Trust His Finished End
Last year I started blogging with an arsenal of blog posts lined up. I was on fire with so much to say and write. This year, I am starting from ground zero. I have nothing pre-written which is scary but good. Good because each week I have to seek God intentionally (which I always try to do). Not for the sole purpose of publishing a post, but He is helping me establish daily/weekly habits that will create a long life of serving and hearing from Him. The work he has started in me, He will complete!
So, that is a little bit of what Things Above will be doing in 2024. The schedule hasn’t changed, I’ll be posting every Sunday. I hope you guys are excited! Keep praying for me as I pray for you all. Remember that you can submit prayer requests at any time, you can subscribe to be notified when a new post is published and I encourage you to re-read old posts as a pick me up in between scheduled posting times.
See you next week!
