A Good Day

On Saturday I started my morning singing Good Day by Forest Frank because I wanted and knew it would be a good day. I didn’t know in what way, but goodness was mine. I had a cycling class at 9:30 am and after that decided to get a smoothie from Clean Juice. I’ve been there a few times before so I didn’t spend too much time reading the menu, but I still looked it over to make sure nothing new was added.  As I’m being handed my order the owner says to me, “If you can tell me the difference between the Recovery smoothie and the So Basic smoothie, I’ll give you a free smoothie. But look at me and not the menu.” Without a second passing, I gave the answer and won a free smoothie!

I forgot about all the people inside the store and I danced. My feet were going and my voice was high pitched with excitement and I celebrated right then and there.

Goodness was mine. I expected it. I hoped for it and it showed up.

Listen friends, this interaction was a powerful one once I put on my spiritual lenses and examined it.

Although I’ve read the menu before I took time to read it again, every visit.

The same goes for our bible, there may be certain chapters or verses we are familiar with but each time we read we can learn something new or maybe it will hold the answer to an upcoming battle or question we are about to face (i.e. the owner randomly quizzing me on the menu items).

Each time I visited Clean Juice, I may not have felt like the menu information was truly sinking in but it was.

So for my brothers or sisters who read their bible and feel like they just don’t understand or have a hard time dissecting the word, trust me, it’s being absorbed and feeding your spirit.

I didn’t expect the owner to ask me such a question, it was time sensitive with specific instructions not to look at the menu, so there was some light pressure.

When you spend time with God and read your bible, when asked, you’ll be ready! The time I spent mulling over the menu proved fruitful. Similarly, the time you spend reading or re-reading the word, praying, meditation and listening for God’s voice will be beneficial.

Time spent with God bears fruit! What you put in will come out. When you or someone else needs encouragement, scripture or a cheerful interaction, God will bring to your memory what you have read, studied and talked with him about in private.

I had no shame in dancing in front of strangers.

Do yall remember the description of David dancing when the ark was returned? Well that was me! I did not care who was looking or who was wondering what I was doing. I received a blessing and it needed to be celebrated. Be thankful and don’t wait until the “right” or “prefect” moment to express it.

Friends, keep being faithful and expecting good. There will come a time when you need to open your mouth and speak. No time to think will be required because it will already be embedded in you.

That’s the power of God.

See you next week!

I love your unique way of placing important messages in your blogs. We sometimes feel like our purpose or reasons to do some things are not linked to meaningful moments. I feel like everything we do in life has purpose and some meaning behind it. God has a way of guiding us through life with the intention of teaching us that we are seen and that everything we do has value. When we follow that guidance, we are met with grace. I would have loved to be in the crowd watching you take those dancing steps of happiness 🙂 thank you for sharing! ~D
