My church still has the decor of Resurrection Sunday adorning the church.
Most people would probably say “Why is that still up? Resurrection Sunday was several Sundays ago?”
If someone did ask me why, I have a ready answer.
It’s because the power of the Resurrection still lives on.
“I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe Him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven.”
Ephesians 1:19-20
We need to walk in this power EVERYDAY! Too many times we look at the Resurrection as a single event for a single day of the year, but the power and the gift needs to be remembered daily.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we know Jesus as the Son of God.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we know there is life after death.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we know God keeps his word and promises.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we are world overcomers.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we have power.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we have victory over death.
It is through the Resurrection of Christ we are no longer slaves to sin.
It is because of the love of God, the need to dissolve our sin, Jesus being the only lamb, that we now have everything the Resurrection offers.
Can’t forget your past sins and regrets? Canceled by the resurrection power.
Falling into temptation? Conquered by the resurrection power.
Feeling hopeless? Empowered by the resurrection power.
This powerful gift is not for a day, but for a lifetime.
