What Good Looks Like

I’ll first start by saying how blessed I am to have a job. Like many, there are aspects of our jobs that are less than desirable.

This week, I had a call scheduled that I really didn’t want to do. Before it was scheduled I prayed that it wouldn’t be assigned to me, but yet it still was. I anticipated the call being difficult based on the briefing I received, so I wanted to avoid it.

My idea of good was not having the call at all.

So the time came for the meeting to start and it was the easiest and shortest call I’ve had.

This is what good looks like from God.

The good he planned for me didn’t look like my idea of good. Instead he allowed the call to land on my calendar because he had already taken care of the rest. He wanted to see if I trusted him. Although in my flesh I was frustrated and didn’t know why it had to be me, my spirit was calm and knew that no matter what came my way, God was with me.

His good looks different than our version of good most of the time and proves to be way better.

This very call I didn’t want grew my faith, built my confidence in my work and protected me from a different call that could have been more complicated and lengthy.

God’s good is always better than ours.

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Thanks and glory be to God!

See you next week!

  1. Brittany God knows what you want your plan to be. He knows your struggles and has concern for your frustration, dislikes and disappointments. But, God also has his own plan in mind for you, and even if you can’t see it or immediately understand it, Brittany I am happy you trusted God and you took it to Him in prayer.  He’s plan is always much better. To God be the Glory.
