A Dangerous Prayer

Warning! Dangerous prayer coming in 3…2..1..

Lord, empty me on earth before I get to heaven.

Just like Jesus said he didn’t come for health but for the sick, your purpose in Christ won’t be beneficial in heaven.

What good is it to start teaching, leading or encouraging people who have already made it to eternal glory? It starts now!

Were you saving your gifts for God? I say this kindly, but God doesn’t need them! He is the creator of all things and all things belong to him.

I can tell you who does need your God given purpose, your neighbors here on earth. Maybe it’s your physical neighbor right next door or maybe people yet to be identified.

Your gift and commission from the Father is to be used to serve those in need on earth and accelerate the gospel.

So why is it a dangerous prayer? Because if you pray it with sincerity, God is going to push you beyond comfort. It will be so scary good you’ll care not about what man thinks or says. You’ll be so laser focused on God’s mission for you that you become a blur and can no longer see yourself, you’ll only see His spirit when you look in the mirror. You’ll be so meshed with the Lord that you’ll no longer understand independence of him.

It’s a dangerous prayer because it’s not easy or natural. It goes against all fleshly desires.

Remember, when you are with God you are with the majority. So, if it gets lonely after you pray this prayer, just know the mission has started but God is undefeated.

Be emptied now, for the benefit of someone else and for glory to God.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

  1. Yes, yes Brittany, God wants us to use the  gifts and talents to help others and glorify Him, not for us to keep it to ourselves.  I always ask Him to blessed me (gift & talents) so that I maybe a blessing to others and I’m so greatful for my gifts & talents He has given me.  Lord, continue to empty me on earth before I get to heaven in Jesus precious name Amén.
