What a privilege to gather with family.
What a privilege to stay home.
What a privilege to have someone call you on the phone.
What a privilege to have dinner to cook.
What a privilege to have a house to clean.
What a privilege to be overwhelmed with plans.
What a privilege to have a noisy home, full of adult conversations and children laughing.
What a privilege to be known by God.
What a privilege to receive his Son as your Savior.
What a privilege to reflect on the Christmas story, the birth of Christ [Matthew 1-2].
What a privilege that creation got to behold the face of their creator.
What a privilege that His footstool became His dwelling place.
Oh, what a privilege!
All these privileges. All these blessings. All made available to you.
I pray that as Christmas approaches you find yourselves closer to God than you did last Christmas and that you would allow your heart to soak in the Christmas story. Yes, it’s familiar but we will never let the miraculous become mundane or God’s will to become uneventful!
Help us Lord to see life with you and your Son as a privilege – a gift given and not owed to us. Help us see the many blessings right in front of us daily. Help us shift our mindset to see the Christmas story every day. The sounds that touch our ears, the work our hands can do, the things our eyes behold and the words we get to speak, let it all glorify you. We are owed nothing in life, but yet you give us everything and more, compounded daily. ALL that we are is because of you, our good Father. Glory to your son, Christ Jesus! Amen.
Merry Christmas, friends!
See you next week!
