Curated Artistry

This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

It’s amazing how the word is renewed within you as you continually reach for God’s hand.

I woke up and recited that scripture, but the word “made” echoed to me.

Made.

Made.

Made.

Any word could have been used but “made” gives insight into God the Creator. Think about it, each and every day God curates the day,  thoughtfully selecting, organizing, and presenting elements to create a specific effect. The foremost thing I thought of was the weather!

Let’s back it up with scripture.

Job 37:10-13

The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen. He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through them.  At his direction they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to do whatever he commands them.

Psalm 147:8

He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures.

Job 38:8-11

Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;

Psalm 135:7

He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.

Job 37:6

He directs the snow to fall on the earth and tells the rain to pour down

Psalm 148:8

…lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding…

Job 38:12

Have you ever given orders to the morning or shown the dawn its place

Psalm 107:2

He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves

The day and the weather it brings is a sign of God’s authority, blessings, power, test of faith and his faithfulness to creation.

So whether it’s a sunny day with no clouds in sight, a stormy day where there is thunder and lightning, a rainy day to water the earth, a windy day that blows to and fro or a mix of several elements, rejoice! You’ve been blessed to experience the work and artistry of the Master, to see him in nature and understand his plans.

Footnote:

Curated artistry refers to the process of carefully selecting and arranging artistic works or elements to create a cohesive and meaningful experience. It’s about weaving a narrative, sparking conversations, and adding context and meaning to the artwork.

What is God’s narrative saying to you?

See you next week!
