Life’s Playlist

1–2 minutes

I love to read and so far this year I’ve read 42 books! The title of my last read was The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez. Besides loving just about each one of her books because of her writing style, this book in particular stood out because as the characters were moving through the seasons of life, the reader was told what song accompanied that chapter. So as you read the book, there were upbeat songs that then turned into sorrowful songs, love songs that transitioned into songs of grief and healing.

Such is life right?

At the completion of the book, I asked myself, “If I had to attach a song to the season of my life right now what would it be?”

I finished that book over two weeks ago and didn’t come up with an answer until today. Between then and now, there have been major spiritual and emotional revelations. Those things have helped me now after the question I asked several weeks ago.

If I had to attach a song to the season of my life right now what would it be…

Interestingly this song choice wasn’t my first, there is a different gospel song that I’ve had on repeat for days that I felt must be the song attached to my season because of how much I’ve been playing it. But isn’t that how God works? When he speaks we are to trust and obey, putting aside our personal agenda and prioritizing what he is saying.
Now it;s your turn, if you had to attach a song to the season of your life right now what would it be? Feel free to comment on your song or reflect on it internally.

Our “songs” will change with the seasons but God is the composer. There between each note and the song that never ends!

See you next week!

  1. Brittany if I had to attach a song to the season of my life right now – there would be several.  However, I would narrow it down to, “Brian Courtney Wilson – Worth Fighting For” is suitable for me right now.  During life ups and down God has been there to fight on my behalf. I am his child and he will never leave me. The other song which has been my the worship song, and I cry every time I hear it. “Trust in God” la by Elevation Worship (featuring Chris Brown). The song gives a message of unwavering faith and assurance in God’s reliability, specially during hard times. This song is a great reminder that despite whatever personal struggles, God is always with us  and is our unfailing source of strength. It touches me so profoundly!!!
