Thanksgiving has come and gone. You probably participated in a round robin of thankfulness at the dinner table or maybe set aside special time for reflection. The holiday itself may be over, but I hope you’re still feeling thankful.
Psalm 92:1 says it is good to praise the Lord. It doesn’t say it’s a convenient or a natural, but a good thing. Thankfulness makes us pause, shifts our minds and spikes our joy.
Just because the official day of thanks recognized by the world is completed, I want to encourage you to continue in thankfulness always. Sometimes we wait to feel thankful before we express it, but Scripture invites us to flip that and to offer thanks always.
Thankfulness is not only the mountaintop moments in our life, it’s the daily things.
- The breath in your lungs
- New mercies you didn’t earn
- Seeing another sunset
- The people you get to love you
Thankfulness isn’t just a response to what God has done, it’s an invitation for Him to move again. What if our gratitude this season became the soil for new miracles in the upcoming season?
Continue with your thankfulness and consider these questions for reflection:
- Where have I seen God’s goodness this year?
- What has He taught me, strengthened me in or walked me through?
- What can I thank Him for even before the answer comes?
See you next week!
