My sister is a master at selecting fragrances that not only smell amazing, but are strong enough to give the person in proximity a lasting aromatic experience.
Because she has taught me her ways and even allowed me to copy her perfume purchases, I get many compliments about how good I smell. These compliments lead into conversations, smiles and laughter.
For those who don’t wear perfume/cologne or don’t consider themselves a fragrance connoisseur, don’t mentally check out just yet because you too have an aroma.
Pauls says in 2 Corinthians chapter 2, that to God we are the aroma of Christ among those saved and those perishing. To the saved our aroma is the fragrance of life and to the unbeliever a fragrance of death.
We are not responsible for how people respond to the message of the gospel, only for spreading it. The “aroma” of Christ is spread through the faithful lives and words of believers, a task made possible by God’s strength, not our own.
So if no one has told you today, let me tell you…YOU SMELL GOOD!
I give you this compliment confidently because God has anointed you, set his seal of ownership on you and put his Spirit in your heart as a deposit and encouragement to do your assignment.
See you next week!
