This past week I was blessed to spend a week at Disney World and it was absolutely amazing! The photos on my phone are a whirlwind of castles, smiles, and late night fireworks, but what lingered with me most wasn’t just the magic of the parks, it was the quiet reminders of God’s presence woven into every step of the trip. While everyday was different and full of small and large blessings, I’ve written down things that happened consistently everyday. Each one of these things made me think of scripture because it was truly an anointed trip (and because God should be sought in everything!).
- Waiting in line with the anticipatory joy of the upcoming ride.
- The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. – Lamentations 3:25
- Asking and getting asked many questions regarding directions, clothes, accessories, etc.
- But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. –1 Peter 3:15
- Thousands of steps walking around each park.
- Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. – Psalm 119:133
- Lightening lanes – a special line to shorten your wait times for popular rides and bypass those standing in regular lines.
- Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. – James 4:10
- Magical moments – moments when a crew or cast member randomly allow guests to skip the line or gives you a free treat/gift.
- God declares to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion – Romans 9:15
- Character integrity – when a Disney character has to remain and uphold the character’s personality and story.
- We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20
Disney was beyond amazing, but I’m reminded that when things on earth blow our minds, how much more will eternal glory with our Savior! Like the characters at Disney I want to have Christ-like integrity by representing him 24/7, like the Disney crew I want to bless others randomly and like those with questions, I’m prepared to have a godly answer!
See you next week!
