Change of Plans

1–2 minutes

This past week I have been a living witness to Proverbs 16:9 — “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

Over the course of the week I was making hour by hour plans and of course it was overwhelming and I felt stressed because I wanted everything to go accordingly. Then in the car, I felt the urge to pray aloud for room to be made in our hearts for God’s plan and that we would accept them.

Let’s just say that the Spirit was preparing me for several divine pivots.

As I settled into the changed plans I realized the amendments God made were so much BETTER! Romans 8:28 was weaved into each change and I received an excellent lesson that I am not in control – final outcomes belong to God.

Friends, God truly knows what he is doing. He operates from love and care so we can trust him and his plans, as written in Jeremiah 29:11. God gives us the wisdom to plan and prepare but we have to remain open to God’s guidance.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5–6

Letting go of personal control leads to divine direction. Human plans can change, but God’s ultimate will always succeeds.

See you next week!
